DFL Toolhead
A custom 3D printer toolhead designed with one goal: a carriage machinable out of aluminum for maximum rigidity, rather than the printed carriages most toolheads rely on.

The carriage is machined from 6061 aluminum; the remaining parts are CF-ABS or resin-printed as needed. Everything is built to be modular and easily swapped.

Features
- 6061 aluminum-machined carriage for rigidity
- CF-ABS / resin-printed secondary components
- Two 4010 blower fans for part cooling, one 2510 fan for hotend cooling
- Duet 3 Toolboard 1LC, CAN-connected
- Bondtech Lite Pro extruder
- Duet magnetic filament sensor
- Revo heatercore and nozzles
- Euclid probe
- Fully modular, swappable components
Machining
V1 achieves the rigidity goal but is machining-intensive - it takes many operations to produce, though it’s doable. A V2 is planned to keep the rigidity while making the carriage easier to machine.
